US Banning Travel to Mexico? Cuba just did

This is a late breaking news. Cuba just banned all travel to/from Mexico. Is US or Canada far behind? Cuba is now the first country to do so, so this is adding another risk to already travel-weary tourists that are either in Mexico now, or are planning to go to destinations such as Cancun. Would they be stranded in Mexico?

This ban is now for 48 hours, and maybe extended. WHO has said that bans do not work, but I believe the pressure will be extreme on governments to take such a drastic action.

In the meantime, New Zealand reports that 11 people returning from Cancun have contracted swine flu and are being treated.

At a minimum, US and Canada are now stepping up checking travelers when they come back from Mexico… so if you happen to have coughs or someone on your flight has coughts, you may be looking at doing quarantine time.
