Cancun Swine Flu Connection?? Where do we stand?

Here is what we know so far regarding possible Cancun Swine Flu connection:

There are no swine flu cases reported in Cancun or the surrounding areas. One has to be cautious as the state of health care in the area (outside Cancun) may not allow proper gathering of information and proper diagnostic equipment may not be available.

A case was detected in a Queens, NY school. 100 kids got infected, but all recovered. CDC confirmed swine flu.

A case was detected in Sacramento, it is being investigated. Here is an update to the swine flu Sacramento story.

A case was detected in Newberry, SC. It is also being investigated.

A case was detected in Nova Scotia, and has been confirmed to be swine flu.

I get many questions on the blog about travel plans, and what people should do regarding Cancun in particular, and Mexico in general, travel. What we are doing here is gathering information, so that you can make informed decisions. We raised the flag very early on a possible connection, see Cancun Swine Flu possible connection blog entry. Headmaster quoted in USA Today that he believes two kids had flu before the trip. One made the trip, one did not. Thinks that the sick kid infected the others.

lagniappedc considering that the flu has originated from Mexico (they are now pinpointing the exact location - a pig farm), how could this be? Please provide link.
