US Travel Advisory for Mexico

Late breaking news: It appears that US is poised to issue a travel advisory for travel to Mexico in a very short time. This travel advisory will suggest that all non-essential travel to Mexico to be avoided.

Furthermore, passengers coming back from Mexico by land, sea, and air are going to be subject to inspection.

The swine flu cases in the US are now double the earlier numbers, and stand at 40. The cases are milder in the US, and no one knows why.

“This is obviously a cause for concern and requires a heightened state of alert, but it’s not a cause for alarm,” Obama said. He said he was getting regular updates.

In Mexico, schools are now closed nationwide. Also multiple airlines have stated that they would waive penalties for changing reservations for travelers to Mexico.

We are monitoring this story to see how travel to Cancun (the focus of this blog) will be affected.
