What US Places are affected by the Mexican Swine Flu?
Swine flu strain has been observed in US as well. That is very worrisome of course for US population.
According to CDC laboratory confirmed cases of swine flu include 6 cases in California, and 2 cases in Texas. Areas affected include San Diego County and Imperial County, California as well as in San Antonio, Texas.
There are everyday actions people can take to stay healthy.
- When you cough, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue. Dispose of the tissue when done.
- Wash your hands often with warm soap and water. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are great.
- Avoid infecting your hands by touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Avoid close contract with sick people
- Avoid contact with people who are coughing or sneezing. They may be infected.
- If you get sick, CDC recommends that you do not go to work or to school and to severly limit your contact

um..new map please? yesterday a child in houston died so i know for a fact that it is in more places than shown at least in texas.
Hi Meara, yes, sad news yesterday in Texas.
The map has been replaced by a link to a google interactive map.
Is there any way we can push to have the borders closed off? The government is pushing to not close them down, saying it will do no good, when in reality it will do more good than leaving them open. Living in Texas, so close to all of this, I don’t like how the elected government officials are making this decision for us. What can be done?
Like you I am TOTALLY baffled by not closing the borders. Why? because every infection costs a few million dollars (and maybe lives) to contain.
Prez Obama says the horse has left the barn. I DO NOT AGREE. A few horses have left the barn, but there are many horses in the barn ready to run out.
This is not nice to anyone, but is there another choice?
