Rain in Cancun !

A few years back we went to Cancun in September. Well, September is the hurricane season (and that is why travel is cheap at that time). It was all fine, but once in a while you could hear the heavens rumbling.

One day the hurricane arrived in force, and it started raining heavy. But unlike the rain I am used to (I live in fairly cold climate), the rain was WARM. It was nice. It was heavy.

During this storm, we went to have lunch at the hotel’s restaurant. The restaurant was situated right in the middle of the swimming pools. It was called La Palapa which is the way huts are set up in Cancun . Watching the rain drop into the pools and pour from the la palapa was something to behold.

So do not be afraid of the rain in Cancun. It is something not to be missed.
