Cancun deep-sea fishing?

How is deep-sea fishing in Cancun? A friend of mine just came back from Cancun and reports that deep-sea fishing in Cancun is alive and well, thank you! He and his son took a deep-sea fishing trip from Cancun (about two weeks ago) and they managed to land a 7 feet long Blue Marlin. That is nice! If you are a fisherman — I used to be an avid fisherman but I have stopped doing that, because I do not have the heart for it — go for it. … But still sometimes I yearn for it. I guess I yearn for the action and excitement, but I do not like landing to fish and seeing it hurt.

How much deep-sea fishing costs in Cancun? According to my friend it costs about $200 a person for one day. Everything else is provided by the fishing crew. When he caught the Marlin, he asked how much it would cost to mount it using taxidermy. He was told it would cost about $800 to do so. Also they would freeze the meat and altogether it would cost about $1200 to ship it to Canada. He did not choose that option mainly because besides the big expensive, he has a small house and he did not see a place for the mounted huge fish.

He really likes to deep-sea fishing in Cancun and this was his second time doing so. If you’re into this, then I would highly recommend you checking out Cancun for your next deep-sea fishing adventure!
